Of course it would be better that somebody from the UAE can assure that the theory is correct:
No chance at all for the European Beams of Amos 2+3
Amos 2 Middle East Beam 1.80-2.40m
Amos 3 Middle East Beam 0.80-1.00m
The values above are based on high quality solid dishes, not mesh and for coastal areas of the UAE where the reception looks to be easier.
I have to rely upon the footprint charts so canot tell you what you really need but i doubt that the Amos 3 Middle East Beam footprint is that wrong.
Have you checked all the frequencies on Middle East Beam mentioned at http://www.lyngsat.com/amos3.html ?
Is the dish correctly aligned ?

i recive the mid east with a 80 cm dish
and the european beam with a solid 3.10 dish
Are you sure that the dish has 100% free sight to 4W ?
I don't know which is the strongest frequency on the Saudi peninsula but in the Balkans it is 10925V. Have you tried each frequency of Amos 2+3 Middle East Beams one by one ?
aikki, do you get each frequency of Amos 2+3 Europe Beams on your 3.10m ? Of course the 3 T-Home frequencies can't be gotten since they and Yes use same f and pol.

dom, the T-Home frequencies use same frequency and polarity as the ones of Yes:

In Southern Greece there are several people that don't get neither the one nor the other because of roughly same C/N. No bigger dish can weaken the one in favour of the other. In other regions the higher C/N wins, which means nobody in Hungary can get these 3 of Yes nor can anybody in Israel can get these ones of T-Home. This is what we call frequency reuse and is new to Europe but not in other parts of the world. Suppose Spacecom has not enough capacity right now to use other frequencies which might change when Amos 6 will start in 2011. Another issue is the neighbour 5W, so there must be frequency coordination since smaller dishes would get interference as well if both would use same f+pol.

Not quite, a 2.40m does not guarantee you everywhere in GR full reception of all frequencies. Many, depending the location can even be gotten with <1m, others need more than 2.40m. The reason i chose GR as example was since there is a dead zone for these 3 frequencies above that are used on both Beams. These people even with a 10m dish could not get both because both signals destroy each other.
Anyway, our topic is 4W in the UAE.
