Default 3D broadcast for Roland-Garros Final

    Pascale Paoli Lebailly

Orange and France Télévisions will on Sunday offer the Roland-Garros men’s tennis final live in 3D broadcast on cinema screens in France (Paris) and Spain (Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia).

Five stereoscopic cameras will be set up around the Philippe Chatrier court. The 3D images from the final will be broadcast by satellite from Roland-Garros to the various cinemas concerned, with support from Orange and GlobeCast.

This event follows on from the 3D TV experiment carried out by Orange and France Télévisions for this year's French Tennis Open from May 31 to June 7. All the matches played on the center court (Philippe Chatrier) throughout the second week of the tournament are being broadcast live and in 3D. These matches are able to be watched on 3D screens at the Roland-Garros site, as well as in five Orange stores in France (Bordeaux, Lille, Nantes, Paris Champs-Élysées, Paris Madeleine).
