    Default PROBLEM WITH NOKIA RECEIVER...


    Dear RDI friends

    I have a NOKIA receiver which is orignaly from DREAM TV with orignal card.

    For last few days its showing NOT OR BAD SIGNAL on the screen

    whenever i turned on the receiver the screen comes blank.... i thought

    its was a signal problem,but later i found out the problem is not with the

    dish...something wrong with the receiver,and my card is still valid.

    Anybody know what is the problem...?

    @digitalpartner,

    Mate, I am using Nokia media master 8830s for 4 years now, and I have encountered the same problem that you have. But I have already fix the problem in mine. Maybe this one will help you.

    1. open the cover of your receiver.

    2. Look for the 47uf 400v capacitor across the diode of the main power
    supply. Check this capacitor for leakage or open. Or better replace this
    capacitor.

    thanks for your kind help...

    I dont know which nokia model is this...?but i am quite sure its from nokia and i have encounter this problem after two years.

    How can i find out that this receiver is Nokia media master 8830s becuz its just written on the front panel NOKIA.

    Hi,

    Mate if that receiver is from dream tv. there is a big possibility that your receiver is a Nokia Mediamaster DMP 8830S. Because I have 7 pcs. of this model all coming from dream tv. and all this 7 receivers had encountered problem the same as you have.
    And all of this receiver have suffered damaged only in that particular capacitor that I have mentioned.
