only if they publish their server details then you will be able to get it, and it requires 24H internet connection (or LAN if you are neighbors).
ultimately, the cost of cardsharing equipment far outweighs the cost of a legal subscription. but just for the heck of it, do cardsharing.

cardsharing is published via IP, so if your receiver does not have a built-in NIC, tough chance that you will be able to do it, unless of course somebody very clever programs a software that will enable you to connect via pc and serial port to the network for your STB.

cardsharing is also available for those with CI slots, all you need is a cardsharing hardware, and the dummy cards of course which can either be connected, again, via LAN configuration, a simple telephone wire or some hardwares even offer you the luxury of 2.4gHz transmission for wireless connections of your dummy cards.

    Default Garry's CardSharing version 4.3

****** Server and Client setup procedure
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
This software will allow you to use up to about 100 IRD’s all sharing the one Valid ****** card. It has been tested with both Irdeto1 and Irdeto2. It has also been tested with Local area Network and Internet connections.

    Installation
    - - - - - - - - -
Just create a Dir on your HDD and put the Server or Client software in it. The programs are written in Visual basic and require two OCX support files. MSCOMM32.OCX which is the Serial Port Routenes and MSWINSCK.OCX which is the ********P/IP and UDP Routenes. Both these files go in the Windows/System Dir. You may already have then installed.

    ****** Server
    - - - - - - - - - -
The Server software is setup on one PC on a Network. Either connected using a Local Area Network or the Internet via a cable Modem or Dial up modem.

Run the server software on the first PC and insert a working card into a Phoenix running at 6Mhz. Select the Com Port then click connect. The Server will then read the card details and display them on the screen. The server is now ready to run.

The Server has an internal Cache which stores the 100 most recent card requests. This speeds things up dramaticaly when using many Clients on the one server. If you dissable the cache it will limit the number of Clients that can use the Server and also puts a heavy load on the Phoenix and card. It is suggested you leave it enabled.

    NOTE
    - - - - -
If you are running a firewall on the server make sure you tell the firewall to allow two way UDP communication for this program. The Server uses Port 2014 for listening. And the first available Port on Client for replying.

    ****** Client
    - - - - - - - - - -
Run the Client software on the second PC and connect it to the IRD using a Season Interface.

Go into setting and change the IP to the correct address of the PC running the Server software or the Proxy which is re-directing to the Server. Save the change then exit the program and run it again. Go back into setting and click ‘Get Settings from Server’. The Server should then send the cards details back to the client. Save them and return to the main screen.

Now select the Com port and click ‘Start’.

Now boot the Cam. Remove and insert Season or boot the IRD. The Client should then start communicating with the server and the picture should appear in several seco***. Once you have booted it once you don’t need to re-boot if the Client is stopped. The Client will save the Camkey and startup again just by setting com port and click start. If you do get a black screen then reboot the Cam again.

    NOTE
    - - - - -
If you are running a firewall on the Client make sure you tell the firewall to allow two way UDP communication for this program. The Client uses the first available Port for listening and Port 2014 for sending.

    Private Key
    - - - - - - - - -
The data sent between the Client and Server is encrypted using a Private key. Make sure you have the same Private key set in both the Server and Client. This Private key will stop un-authorised persons from using your ****** Server.

    Windows XP Firewall
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Windows XP has an inbuilt firewall. You will need to modify the Firewall settings in order to run the Server or Client on XP. The following should help.

To add a new rule to XP's firewall just go into the Inet connection and select Properties. Then the advanced Tab then down the bottom the Setting Button.

Add a new one called ****** Client. Set local machine name. Set Port to ? and select UDP. Then add another new one called ****** Server. Set local machine name. Set port to 2014 and select UPD. Then enable both of them by the tick box

    EMM Updates
    - - - - - - - - - - -
All Clients that have the same HSN and ProvID of the card in the Server will send any new EMM’s to the Server. If you are using a Titan/Atlas then at least one Client needs to have the correct HSN and ProVID on the system to keep the card updated.

    Dial Up IP
    - - - - - - - -
When using the Server on a Dial Up Inet connection your ISP assigns an IP address to your PC. This IP is dynamic which means it changes each time you Dial in. You will need to find what this IP is. There are some Windows Utils to help you find it. One program is a DOS program found in the Windows Dir. Open a DOS window and change to the Windows Dir then execute IPCONFIG and it will show you your current IP config.

    LAN IP
    - - - - - -
The IP used on a LAN can be found in the settings for your Network card. Usualy manual settings are used for LAN setups. If you cant find it then use the IPCONFIG program again.

    Cable Modem IP
    - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Some cable modems come with software which shows you the IP address it’s using. If you can’t find it then use the IPCONFIG program again.

Description on how it all works
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
First thing you need to understand is that this software is NOT an Emulator. It requires a fully working Irdeto1 or Ideto2 card for it to function.

NO keys are sent between the Server and Client. In fact the Server has NO idea what the keys are on the Valid card in the Phoenix. And it has no need for these keys either. The Card itself is doing all the Decrypting.

The Only details that are read from the card are the details that the CAM needs in order to work. The Server is acting like a Remote CAM. The Card is powered up in the same manner it would be if the card was inserted directly into the CAM itself. The only details read off the card are the ProvID, Hex Serial Number, Ascci Serial Number and the Coco reply. These details can be sent to the Client if they are requested. Although the Client can function with no card details at all. You can leave the ProvID and HSN on all FF FF FF if you wish. However the Coco reply needs to have the correct CA ID’s of the system being used. IE, Irdeto1 or Irdeto2. And if you are using a SUB box then the 3 Byte Coco also needs to be correct.

The Only reason the HSN and ProvID are needed in the Client is to Auto Update the card at the servers end. When EMM’s are received they are sent to the Server so they can be passed to the card to auto update the cards internal keys. Note however that the Client keeps a track of the last EMM sent and will only send the EMM to the Server if it changes. That means the Same EMM is never sent to the Server twice in a row. This cuts down Net traffic.

    Data Flow
    - - - - - - - -

    Server Port
    - - - - - - - -
This is the Net Port that the Server listens on for Data being sent from the Client. For the Card Sharing to work you need to have the same Port set in both the Server and the Client

    Log Window
    - - - - - - - - - -
The Log window in the Client shows all data being sent between the Cam and the Client

In the Server the Log window shows the IP and Client Port being used to access your Server. It also shows the first 6 bytes of the data packet being sent. You should only ever see data packets starting with 01 01 or 01 02 or 01 05. If you see a data packet starting anything other that those it means the Client and Server has a different Private key.

    Smartmouse
    - - - - - - - - - -
This option will invert the reset signal to allow it to work with a Smartmouse programmer.
    Default is Phoenix.

    3.58 Mhz
    - - - - - - - -
    Selects 3.58 Mhz Mode.
    Default is 6Mhz.

    Data Pass
    - - - - - - - -
Can be used to limit data sent to the Server when high Server traffic exists.

    Tune
    - - - - -
Adjust Server ACK Timeout in Seco***.
Adjust Server Reply Timeout in Seco***.
Option to Send a Dummy reply to the Decoder is the Server Reply Timesout.

    Bad CHID
    - - - - - - - - -
List of CHID’s that the Server replied as unable to Decrypt Can be cleared. Can Occur if Wrong PK on card as well. After a PK update you need to Clear the list to get the Channels going.

Use Gold Card to Supply ATR
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
If you have a Season that has a Card Socket then you can use a Gold card programmed with the Gold_ATR.Hex to Supply the ATR to the decoder instead of the Client. This should make the Software work in any box that has a timing problem with the PC supplying the ATR. This option is in the TUNE menu. Make sure you select this option before you Click Start on the Main screen. Just insert the Gold card into the Season before you insert the Season into the Decoder.
