    Default Can Satellite Channels be viewed via internet?


    Can anyone enligthen me about viewing the satellite tv channels on my PC thru internet. If it is possible, how can i do that?

    Appreciate your help....thanks.

    @marissa,

    viewing a video/audio stream over the net requires a lot of bandwidth. minimum of at least 256K broadband for tolerable experience, and 512K for a decent one, that is without guarantess that you will not experience server hiccups and all.

    i can suggest that you buy a pc dvb card, hook that up to your pc and satellite dish, then get the plugins to view some encrypted channels, even pay channels if you like (read the other threads on how to join the free-x server and others). if you have the bread to buy a Dreambox, so much the better since you can connect it to the network and access other pay TV channels not available on ordinary UCAS receivers (again, read on the spider network thread). this method does not require a broadband since the data packets needed for keys are quite handled well by a dedicated 56k dial-up.
