Dear brother , it's not the footprint of Chinasat 9 bcoz. Chinasat 9 is at 92.2°E .I've checked on Lyngsat and Satcodx but didn't see the footprints on there.Anyhow I'm now testing this satellite and later I'll tell u my result.

What is special in ABS receivers? Those Chinasat transmissions are not normal DVBS1 and Mpeg2?

DVBKey, how much for such a receiver ? As you say it's a cheap receiver. So no one with ordinary DVB receiver can't check the footprint ? Please post the details.

Yan, can you check the footprint using an ordinary receiver and ordinary universal lnb ? The **** print I post is got before the satellite launch and I post it here on RDI many days back. Many confusion about the **** print.

Please anyone post the test result for **** print.

    I have 2 questions:

1.) Are these transmissions for DTH reception or do they feed terrestrial and cable networks ?
2.) Can anybody obtain ABS receivers or do you need a special license ? Any chance somebody from Europe could buy ?

    Best regards.

Really nobody that can answer the 2 questions above ?

What i wanted to ask as well:

Can a common DVB-S receiver be used just to check the signal quality or is the system thus different that it will show zero even if the quality is very good ?

The last question is directed to people inside the beam.
