    Default receiver to buy

    Hi Guys,
I am planning to go for receiver upgrade, I don't know which brand that I need to go far.

At the moment, my dish is focused on hotbird 18A. The receiver must be capable of using the card viewer slot to watch SUN TV, K TV (Tamil channels), and would like to use the keys discussed here that can be programmed manually to watch other channels.

Different receiver requires different set of keys?

    any recomendations

    Thanks
    Manmathan UK.

Thanks for your inputs. Sorry. One more question. I need via access2.5 card slot. Is there any dream box that comes with this slot? or any accessories that I need to buy for this receiver? with this DM500 would it be possible to tune HD channels?

or any other better receiver that you guys recomend

    -Ethernet capable
    -USB
    -able to tune HD channels
    -vi-access 2.5 card slot
-capable to programm keys mentioned in this forum to watch some channels

Dear friend, Yes you are right DreamBox 8000 is a new highly stable and reliable… The Dreambox DM8000 will have a 723 MHz IBM processor, and come with 2 CI slots and 2 integrated card readers. It will also have an internal DVD drive… but it is much costly around about Ł400

I am also interested in buying Dreambox DM 500 but not sure how and where to get it in India. If anyone is aware of the source, please let me know. Also, I am not sure what all do I have to buy - just the Dreambox receiver or some other accessories as well to receive encrypted channels. Please guide.

    Regards
