I hope Yan is OK. That Nargis cyclone first threatned our place and then moved north easterly.

Really getting worried now for our dear friend. He lives right in the path of the cyclone and over 30,000 are now reported dead or missing.
Perhaps those amongst us who are religious should pray for him.

According to news reports the death tole is between 40 and 60 thousand with over a Millon people displaced. or missing.
The big problem is the military junta, has refused access to World Health aid, refused access to outside aid, refused access to outside helicopter rescue unit's and generally does not want, outside help, but at the same time asks for it.

This is the sort of stupidity we can expect from such a dictatorship, and there is no rime nor reason for there non-action.

It's also reported that the countries power supplies have completely collapsed, as have there rudimentary sewage systems and fresh water is being sold at black-market prices

To date China have not been asked for aid or offered it.

World Health Agencies are waiting on the countries borders, as no entry Visa's , have been processed. And without them entry will not be granted.

This disaster is of a reported magnitude to equal the Tsunami of 4 years ago. and while any sort of recovery is hampered by the controlling junta, any sort of recovery back to an excepted normal is unlikely.

For members who are so much worried about Yan. Here it is. Phukett saw him online when he was leaving this forum once for all. I also saw him online when I was giving final farewell to Phukettsatellite.

It may have been his brother in Rangoon who logged on as Yan would surely have posted if he was well.

Oh. But even then his brother won't be reading RDI if Yan was no more. I think Yan is fine. I request either Yan or his brother to post something about this. So that I, C-band and other members can be happy.
