Default Beware : Dish Installation Can Be Fatal

Man Shoots Wife Dead Trying To Install TV
    Updated:11:45, Thursday March 27, 2008

A man who tried to use a gun to install a satellite television system ended up shooting his wife dead by accident.

The correct way to install dishRonald Long tried to make a hole in the exterior wall of his house in Missouri, US, to install the dish for the system.

After several unsuccessful attempts, he got a .22-calibre handgun and blasted two holes in the wall.

The second bullet hit his wife, Patsy, in the chest, fatally wounding her.

She was standing outside the house at the time, but Long reportedly thought she was inside.

    wow,,,,did the authorities believe him
personally,,,i use 9mm for all holes needed,,,,,i doubt the .22cal hole would be large enough to pass the cable through.
    cheers,,,dave

Default The fatal danger of watching football

Do not laugh...its a true story fronm the Herald Tribune.
Also remember Rod Hull the ventriloquist who fell off the roof while fixing an antenna ?

The entertainer Rod Hull has died in an accident at his home in East Sussex.
The 63-year-old - who entertained generations of children with his double act with Emu - fell off the roof of his cottage while adjusting his TV aerial.

He was declared dead on arrival at the Conquest Hospital in Hastings.

Hull was adjusting his TV aerial in an attempt to improve the picture as he watched Manchester United's football match against Inter Milan.

i think there is more to the original story than meets the eye,,,anyone familiar with firearms would doubt the ability of a .22cal being able to penetrate a wall,,exit the wall,,then have enough velocity or any projectile left capable of killing someone,,,,,sounds a bit sus to me,,,
    cheers,,,dave

i really doubt it that the .22 cal passed through that wall and hit his wife with enough punch to kill since it is at point blank range (unless he was shooting using a rifle at some 15 mtrs distance, lol).

he killed his wife then made the hole on the wall. end of story.

houses in the US are built like paper; so the bullet could easily go through the wall and kill the wife.

Houses in Europe and in the ME are built with harder materials, i.e. bricks. Bullets would have a much, much tougher time to get through.

yes, i understand that the INTERIOR walls are made with light materials (you can ram your fist and your hand will go through), but in this case, he shot through an EXTERIOR wall which i believe is a bit harder (not as hard as cement) enough to withstand moisture, all the insulation packed in it, etc... etc. and take note that he shot the wall at point blank range at which the bullet has a very short and weak velocity.

anyway......... we are all entitled to our own opinions, lol.

Well, its a good alibi of getting out of paricide! His wife must be heavily insured! It's just a prelim investigation, the final verdict comes from CSI people. If the guy ask my advice I'll tell him to use a magnum .44 handgun or 30-30 sniper rifle so it would be a sure kill!

Title of the thread is little misleading. The death was not caused by the dish. It was beacuse of a Gun which was used to put a hole! He could have used driller which would have saved a life.
