Another question on RDI.English to which no meaningful reply can be given !
Do you not realise that Thailand stretches from Betong in the South near the Malaysian border to Mae Sae in the North near Burma, over a thousand kilmeters .
Sure ask about reception but if you want the correct info you should specify the location of the dish concerned !

Nope, he's got a very high quality Chinese prime focus dish, that hasn't worked from the day he got it, and he's still waiting for our Phuket friend, to tell him why it won't work. And get it fired up for him.

And thanks for the news about Timbuktu, which indecently you spelt incorrectly, But we had no idea they had moved the place from North Africa to Thailand.

True re 1.8 prime focus solid !
Yes the reply given was intentionally mispelt as you probably may not know the meaning of timbuktoo ! It is an EXPRESSION as well as a place name.
A stupid irrelevant question deserved a stupid irrelevant reply !

Putting on ones glasses would reveal if you looked it the OP's data as

So he gave his location and you dumped on him. Nothing changes on this forum does it.

@ somboon, a 1.86 solid offset will do it fine from over there in Udon Thani I am told

no no no kuband, c band is in bangkok and tries to assist somboom.
and then he gets a shit reply.
it makes a difference what footprint u get and what size of dish u need to use depending on ur location. assuming that c band didn't see Udon Thani, there is no reason to reply in that way. Thailand is a big country

    Correct.
RDI people posting wanting info on whether their dish can receive a signal strong enough to receive are advised to :
    1. give the satellite name, frequency or name of the transponder they wish to receive
    2. the size and most importantly type of dish ie mesh, offset solid/ prime focus solid.
    3. the lnb they are using if known
    2. the location of their dish . Home and dish location may differ ie info for a friend etc
4, the make of receiver they are using would be helpful

Only with the above info can helpful replies be given.
fx Daeng in CM receives many signals which cannot normally be received in Bangkok
so to ask about reception ....in Thailand..... as this person did is less than helpful .

What somboon wrote was not about reception at the address he gave to RDI but.......

"Can any one tell me what size dish I need for Agila 2 / Dream TV in Thailand "

    C-Band,

I hope I'm not hijacking. I know for dish size 1.7m or the bigger the better. I'm just curious what are the boxes that get Dream TV without pay before March 1, 2008.
    Testing: Pansat 2500A, 2700A & 9200HD, Coolsat 5000, Sonicview 360

    Dear Somboon,

The response you got from C-Band for above query is justified.
Besides, his first response was neither sarcastic nor an insult.
The man only asked you to specify your location inorder to help
you. FYI , specifying exact location is damnn helpful.
You could politely given that info , instead you punched him in the face
with a "cross-examination" sort of question.

Best of my knowledge, ALL members of this forum are extremely helpful and friendly . Its sort of a give and Take place. I 'd like you to be mindful
    of this.

Anyway, somebody here has provided you the answer ( 1.86 dish...)
So off you go. Happy hunting !

    Regrads,
    kamaldeen.
