New 24-hour TV channel begins broadcasting in RussiaMOSCOW, January 30 (Itar-Tass) -- A new 24-hour satellite television channel, Zakon TV (Law TV), has started broadcasting in Russia.The main purpose of this project is “legal enlightening of citizens”, NTV Plus Director General Dmitry Samokhin said.The editor-in-chief of the new channel, Sergei Zavriyev, said, “The new project targets ordinary people, professionals and those study and plan to study law.”The channel will offer information, analytical, and entertainment programmes covering various legal problems. News will be broadcast from the CITY-FM radio complex.Zakon TV will also carry press and book reviews, films and serials based on legal issues. It plans to launch such programmes as Legal Education in Russia, Interpreting Law, Us and Them, which will explore correlations between national and international law.“We hope this will be useful, interesting and well done,” Zavriyev said. “We won’t fight for the rating or try to outdo other channels.”
