On the DSTV website they relate only to the KU band systems.

You can also go to www.dstvafrica.com and www.dstvasia.com

Rather bad luck ! The Africa site (tried Ethiopia) makes no mention of the dmx radio channels and the Asia site wont open !
So if anyone can inform me whether they receive the DMX Golden Oldies radio channel on the c band and give the PID's, it would be helpful.
    Thanks

What a shame....they've removed golden oldies from the list for c band dmx channels.
Have you noticed that multichoice while constantly expanding its choice of channels for Ku band or perhaps KU for South Africa is totally neglecting its choice in C BAND !
fx no Disney, no Crime and Investigation. etc etc ...unless you are fortunate enough to live in SA !
Reading through the various websites the reason becomes apparent....FEAR OF COMPETITION in SA. I read that 4 new licences have been awarded for DTH in S.Africa .
Probably no new licences for the other forty odd African countries.
See below ......Quad erat demonstrandum. 48 dmx channels !

    Right
    Golden oldies no longer exists
and am assuming it could now be on the
ku channels which is always expanding,
and improving on our Eutel W4, but not the inttel C band.

There is no certainty that what is available one day will be there the next. Read the DSTV website it says programming content can change at any time.

But then again Cband I actually have DSTV cards at home and pay for the content... so many of my brethren here on RDI do not. SO what's to complain about eh? lol

The reason for this should be quite obverses, Cost of installation, equals cost of material's equals convenience of a small dish.
Not everyone wants or can afford a large C-band dish, when a small 75 cm [ or whatever] will do quite nicely. Plus the fact that in some parts of the worlds a dish over the size of a conventional pay dish requires a permit, install licence, etc.

Please consider what the answer would be if they offered you a standard install, receiver / 75 cm dish / subcard. for a small install fee, or a thumping great C-band dish, at an added cost to the install. Most people just want a small dish and the channels they have paid for, there not interested in how it's transmitted.

To be honest, I don't know of any pay services that use a C-band system.
    regards from OZ bassett

I think Basset means DTH to home users as many providers use CBAND like STAR TV.

Telkomvision from Indonesia. DSTV From South Africa. Indovision ( S Band )

There are a few more Basset but mainly KU band is used for smaller dish size yes.
