Yes there is a Very Big problem with Internet connectivity in Pakistan
Before some dayz An undersea cable carrying data between Pakistan and the outside world has developed a serious fault, virtually crippling data feeds, including the Internet.
The system crashed late Monday and was still down this evening. Many offices across the country ground to a halt as people realized it was not one of Pakistan's regular, but usually brief, technical hitches.
PTCL provided satellite back-up for the link, which meant some people were able to get access to a very slow Internet connection.
We hope this problem will be fine very soon.

Pakistan has about 10m internet users
Engineers have begun work off the Pakistani coast to try to repair an undersea cable fault that has crippled internet and telephone services.
They arrived at the site 11km (seven miles) off Karachi on Saturday but have not found the fault's exact location.

Repair work is said to be painstakingly slow because of poor weather.

The cable is Pakistan's sole internet link and the fault has caused huge disruption, although a satellite hook-up has provided some services.

    Default pakistan net problom

this happened because Pakistan has a single fiber optic for fast internet access, compared to India which has already 5 established fiber links and another is on the way to make it six. that is why it is always wise to invest in redundant infrastructure to avoid glitches such as this one. a repair ship has been sent from Dubai few days past and it should take at least a week for the repairs to be commenced. i think another fiber line is in the process of being laid out for Pakistan and should be operational sometime end of this year.

for now, pakistani users have to use the slower backups provided by the telco, and it will be much slower of course.
