Thumbs up SuperForge - superfun cu 3 magic words

    3 magic words!

    PLASTIC / AUXCARD / CARDSHARING !

    Code:
    SuperForge Serial Traffic Multiplexer
    -------------------------------------

From: Iron_Forge, SuperKing! and Chemlab, with special thanks to Tibor for giving us someone to blame all the bugs on.

SuperForge is a client/server set for Windows aimed at allowing a computer to share a connected serial device with other systems on the network, instead of buying multiple expensive serial devices.

    History:
    --------

    Client Server
    V0.1.1 V0.1.1 - 12/30/2007 - First working version. Still full of bugs.

    Requirements:
    -------------
This software requires Windows with .NET framework version 2.0 or higher installed.
Virtual serial port software such as com0com may also be required for your application.

    Usage:
    ------

    sfserver -com=# -port=#

     Usage:
-com=# Serial port to be shared (required)
-port=# Listen port for SuperForge Clients (required)
-sleep=# Cycle delay time in ms (optional)
      -snoop Snoop traffic (optional)
-log=file Log traffic, if no file specified will use sf.server.log (optional)
      -key Generate new key (optional)

    sfclient -com=# -ip=# -port=#

     Usage:
-com=# Serial port your application will use to access the serial device (required)
-ip=#.#.#.# IP of the SuperForge Server (required)
-port=# Listen port of the SuperForge Server (required)
-sleep=# Cycle delay time in ms (optional)
      -snoop Snoop traffic (optional)
-log=file Log traffic, if no file specified will use sf.clients.log (optional)

For example, if you have an application running on several pc's that has to share a single serial device:

Say your serial device is on com3 of the host machine with the ip 192.168.0.1
    sfserver -com=3 -port=5757

If this is your first time running sfserver, it will generate a .key file. This file is required by all clients that you want to have access to this device.

On a client pc, copy the .key file from your server machine into the SuperForge directory. If your application is looking for the serial device on com2, use virtual port software to tie com2 to an unused port, we'll use com4 for this example.

    sfclient -com=4 -ip=192.168.0.1 -port=5757

Now run your application on the client machine and it should have access to the serial device on the server.

    Known Issues:
    -------------
    Occasionally sfclient doesn't work correctly.
       -try restarting sfclient

    Final Notes:
    ------------
This is a first release that is by no means bug free. There may be future releases as bugs are fixed or new features are added.

Snooping, sleep, and logging can add delay and should not be used unless needed for troubleshooting. The .key file is NOT intended to be high security - don't give your sfserver ip and port to people unless you want them to have access to it.

SuperForge also works over the internet, but results vary due to latency.

    Kiwwi,

"SuperForge is a client/server set for Windows ...." si "This software requires Windows with .NET framework version 2.0 or higher...".
Deci daca e Windows client atunci e DVB pentru Windows.....sau poate numai serverul e Windows.... Oricum daca vor reusi sa-l faca sa mearga pe Windows atunci sigur se va gasi cineva sa foloseasca ideea si pentru Linux.
