Inaintea meciului cu Athletic Bilbao, spaniolii, care joaca cu o echipa romaneasca 2-a oara in ultimele 4 luni, iata ce scriu mediile internationale depre CFR CLUJ :

    Munteanu to coach Cluj

Romanian First Division club CFR Cluj have appointed veteran international Dorinel Munteanu as their player-coach.

    Coaching first
The 37-year-old, capped 124 times by his country, has signed a two-year contract with the UEFA Intertoto Cup contenders, having spent the last 18 months at champions FC Steaua Bucuresti. Munteanu, who has just passed his UEFA Pro licence course, replaces Aurel Sunda.

    Athletic test
Munteanu, who plans to play for one more season, will have a tough first match as Cluj face Spain's Athletic Club Bilbao in the Intertoto Cup second round this weekend. Athletic travel to Romania on Saturday before the return leg a week later. Cluj were 7-3 aggregate winners against FK Vetra of Lithuania in the first round.

Default Re: CUPA INTERTOTO EDITIA 2005

GLORIA BISTRITA , in cupa care i-au ramas fideli de ani de zile,
ecouri europene, inaintea meciului cu croatii de la Belupo :

    Sabau to take Gloria helm

Constantin Carstea is to resign as coach of FC Gloria 1922 Bistrita after Sunday's UEFA Intertoto Cup first round match.

    New blood
Following the second-leg tie against Olympiakos Nicosia FC of Cyprus - with Gloria leading 5-0 from the away leg - Carstea has agreed to stand down with Ioan Ovidiu Sabau succeeding him on a one-year deal. "I thought we needed to bring in new inspiration to try and achieve something bigger," said Gloria president Jean Padureanu, who has employed just two coaches in 18 years at the club - Remus Vlad and Carstea.

    Golden player
The 37-year-old Sabau will sign his contract on Monday. The ex-FC Dinamo Bucuresti and AFC Rapid Bucuresti player was part of the Romanian 'golden generation'. He scored eight goals in 55 games for his country and appeared at the 1990 FIFA World Cup.

    European experience
Sabau also saw domestic action in Europe, playing for Feyenoord between 1990 and 1992, winning the Dutch Cup twice, and then Brescia Calcio and Reggiana AC in Italy. His first coaching job was with his original club, FC Universitatea Cluj, before he took charge of FC Gaz Metan Medias in Romania's second division. His team missed out on promotion on goal difference in 2004/05.
