    Default Dreambox 600 Pvr

Finally I got the DM 600 PVR from Swiss and got installed the 120 GB Hard drive.
The DM600 allows only the IDE hard drive and not the sata (i donno why !)
Its a real treat with the new Gemini image.
I feel so comfortable even after paying the extra few euros.
Now I can record/program recording without switching on the computer.
    Its just a click away.
I can also record multi channels.
Also I can access the Hard drive from my computer using DCC and copy the contents to the hard drive where I can burn a DVD if I want to save it.
I only feel why they cant incorporate a rechargeable battery into the Dreambox so that recordings wont miss in case of a short power failure.
I even feel the Computer CPU casings also should have a rechargeable battery thus totally taking away the need to fix a UPS.

just imagine the size of your box if they incorporate the charger and the battery on it. with regards to the computer casing, you need maximum airflow for the very hot components inside, unless of course you want to make the box bigger and make it VERY difficult to repair if your pc breaks down because you have to remove the battery compartment, etc.

just fix a UPS.... and congrats on your new toy.

    Thanks all.

Its really easy to handle the 600.
The Hard Disk was one meant for laptops so not bulky.
    Quickly fitted nicely and initialised.
recording with it is just cake walk.
With the DCC I managed to download the video files to the computer and viewed.
With Ulead DVD Movie Factory you can easily edit and burn a DVD so that I can clear the Hard Drive.
Now I have programmed recordings for the whole week.
I came back from work and when I am not at home it had nicely done the home work.
I just paid 100 $ extra for this which I find fully worth.

    500S was 220 $ while 600 was 330 $.
I even consider going for a 7020 given the fact that it contains a USB port where I can copy recorded movies.
