    Question

    Hi,
What are the disadvantage and/or advantage if comparing this twin tuner receiver with dvb pc card like skystar/twinhan and are possible to patch plugins?

IMHO, i don't think you can compare these STB's to PCI DVB cards (SS2/Twinhan). you see these STB's have their specific patch to AU a certain receiver.

while these PCI DVB cards have "plugins" that are easy to find. you can play with these plugins, experiment on a combinations of plugins to AU and descramble a signal, whatever it is you are watching in your area.

i have three kinds of STB's here, 2 are unable to descramble a signal the other one is 80% AU. while my SS2 keeps auto updating keys. i don't even need an internet connection to get the keys i need for my other stb's to work.

i wont have said it if i ain't happy with it. but that's just for me......

but every STB's have their limitations even PCI DVB cards. i guessed my SS2 is properly configured and doing what it is supposed to do.....

OTOH, DM is popular now-a-days. (out of my curiosity, that's why i'm getting one) the process of learning doesn't stop at SS2, you must learn other things too....

everyone has their own share of experience. and i intend to find out this on DM's

oh, i am sorry...i just read the following.....

Q: Does the Selevision set-top box work with satellite connections used on units like Humax, Eurostar, etc?

A:Yes. In fact Selevision has two receivers/decoders in the same unit.Whether you use a receiver to view free-to-air channels, or a decoder to view smartcard-based services, you can simply unplugyour existing unit and replace it with the selevision STB using the same connections.
Q: I a subscribed to a paid service(e.g. Showtime, Awael, Pehla). Will it work with Selevision?

A: Yes like most decoders used to view paid services, the selevision STB has slots for smartcards - two slots to be presise. Just take your smart card out of your existing decoder, and insert it into the selevision STB. You'll be able to receive all your favourite paid channels, with all of Selevision's features (e.g. program guide, live recording, etc.) available to you.
any how thankx for the info....but still i have confused about 2nd tuner....any use about twin tuner now? or its like that visionnet 8000?
