Default Correct Teflon Insertion Procedure - Circular Polarity

    Dear Friends,

I am trying to get circular polarity signals (L or R) from a Russian Bird. The LNBF is receiving V & H polarity signals from other birds but somehow the circular polarity is not getting locked.

Can anyone guide me how to insert the teflon piece in LNBF (which direction for L and which for R).

What polarity would I be entering in my receiver as I only have V or H polarity option in the receiver. Is their any trick to solve this problem.

    Best regards,

    Umair

I use a small piece of fibreglass cut to suit the slot inside the front cap of the (Linear) LNB. Works fine with Intelsat 701 which is L/R polarity on C Band.

Tuning procedure is the same as normal, just select Vertical for Left and Horizontal for Right (or is it the other way round - I forget, try both ways to be sure) Enter frequency and symbol rate as before.

You haven't said what type of LNB , your using, but the pacific // Zinwell
models have a couple of raised sections , in the wave guide, which amounts to a slot, that will except the dilectic plate.

However there is considerable Db loss, if you use a Dilectic Plate, especially if your dish size in border line. Also 701 is not easy to find, and considerable time is needed, But like the Ku service, once you have frequances loaded, it is easy.
