if your point in asking is: is it a fair price? for comparison, i can get the same 180cm dish here in kuwait for like around 3,000RS if converted to your currency.

my bad, wrong calculation. it won't even cost you 20kd. last time i bought, the highest price for a 180cm dish is around 9.5kd... let's say 10kd on the average. you can even find something lower than that.

no, these are imported i think as the names are Jonsa, etc.... or maybe locally made with names simply printed on them.

yes, dishes here are very cheap, only thing is the freight charge as mentioned.

    THANKS FOR THAT AMAZING INFO.
I WILL BE IN DUBAI SOON AND WILL INQUIRE AS TO THE COST THERE, AS THE PRICE SHOULD BE SIMILAR. CANNOT BELIEVE A 1.8M DISH CAN BE AVAILABLE FOR AED 125 / BAHT 1200. IN THE MEANWHILE CAN ANY RDI MEMBER TELL US THE PRICE IN DUBAI.

I can see it now, there's C-band at the airport departure lounge, trying to convince the airline, that the 1.8 satellite dish tucked under his arm is personnal LUGGAGE.

O I wish I was a fly on the wall

Baggage only, but it has to be claimed as a fry pan, just a very big fry pan.

    Default Amazing ! Incredible !!

Boknoy Was Wrong About The Price Of Dishes In The Gulf.
They Are Even Cheaper In Dubai Than His Kuwait Prices.
    A 1.8 Meter Dish Costs Only 110 Dirhams Or Us$30 !
Remember In Thailand These Dishes Cost 8000 Baht Or Us$ 260 !
In The Uk The Price Even Higher Than Bkk !

I Checked The Prices Of All The Larger Sized Solid Dishes And All Around One Tenth Of Price They Cost In Europe.
The 5 Meter In The Shop Was A Whopper And The Price Was So Cheap I Was Bowled Over.
Why This Massive Huge Price Difference
You Lucky Sat Enthusiasts In The Gulf !

look at post #6, silly. i said AVERAGE is 10kd, the highest i found is 9.5kd, the lowest you can get at around 7kd. convert that to dollars or duabi dirhams if you want.

short story: dishes here in middle east are very cheap, nobody bothers that much to buy motors to drive the dishes for multiple sats, they simply buy more dishes! you can just imagine the look of satellite shops when i was asking for a motor to drive a dish. and they were like, "motor what?!?"
