Question Are Dubai Sat Products Fake ?

I have been buying some receivers and other sat products from Dubai but i have been wondering their genuineness, they work for a week and suddenly they just hang. I bought ARISAT 600 receiver but you cant input the keys. When you press the blue button and then 0000, it says no channel like that exists. Is it fake receiver or it is me who is fake ?

Dear Lagat , you have to go the place where you bought it and complaint as you have paid for it ,get it tested before you buy it,as it's still new I think you can still get a new one , there might be a problem with the hardware or software. Regards

You have to patch the receiver. You need to load those hacked softwares, emus to enter keys and other things. The receiver manfucaturer won't give these illegal things from the shelf.

    lagat,
When you buy a specific product for a specific purpose, its better to check on it in the shop itself, even though the shopkeeper will rush you, these guys generally do that.
Manual input is based on the software loaded with the compatible hardware.
When a STB hangs it means that the software is not stable, try re set to factory settings & if it still persists you will require the latest software or patch from the manufacturer or a support web site.
May be there is another way to do it
Members like Cogil or George or others surely will assist you.

Astonishingly naive posting. We are told that one dealer in Dubai which has hundreds of sat equipment vendors has sold you faulty receivers
There are rogues in every major city selling defective products dont you know that.
Had you told us where you bought the products, who sold them to you and whether you got a special bargain price we would then be able to judge.
Why not name and shame if you know of a dealer who sold you faulty products . That will help everyone and we will know the avoid being caught again.

If your going to buy Clone chinese junk, for a lot less then the genuine products, you deserve all you get. In short , you only get what you pay for.
Over the years I,ve bought a considerable number of receivers, as well as some Hi-Fi gear, with out any problems .
If your buying genuine established makes, like Pansat, Fortec, Triple Dragon, etc, you not only get a factory warrenty, But you also get genune software, which is specifily writen for that brand.

    Hi Guys

My advice in general is if you want to buy any electrical or electronic products it is always safe to buy from your loacal dealers in your own country. This way if you have got any problem with your equipments you can ask your dealer to replace it without going to the shop thousands of miles away. It is very dodgy to import electrical stuff or buy personally from shops you don't know in other countries.

    AR600,
this is my best receiver, and if you have any problems,
since you are close enuf, will help you solve it.
that receiver beats so many fta rcvrs in market,
for price and functionability, AR, SW updates etc.
if yours has a problem, the seller should advise you,
unless its also fake. genuine ones are beautiful.
Remember this is a eurostar product.

satellite dealers here in middle east, or mostly anywhere for that matter will not load softwares off the shelf. you have to tell them to load the software for you, or at least tell them to unlock or give the codes for you to enable the code edit functions, etc.

if still under warranty, send it back and have it checked, cleared-out about your doubts.

Arisat boxes are good but I think, you have to familiarize yourself with such box. You have to visit back the shop where you bought it. This model is distributed by Eurostar and there is guarantee when you bought this from any Eurostar outlets. There might be a problem in loading the s/w. You should have ask the vendor if the 'boot loader" has been installed before you could upload the latest s/w from the website. I forgot the site but maybe try this www.mytek-data.com or dragon-data.com

What you say, is very true, in an established market, Unfortunately we in Australia, suffer from a very small market, for not only satellite receivers but also satellite programming. the services are simply not there, Just about zero hacking, and any card share is only done between friends or small close net groups. The result is, IF we want something a bit specialised, we have to import ourself's or if a retailer has it, pay exorbitant prices.. In the early days, If you wanted a receiver [analogue] the importers slapped a $1000, on the price, and people queued up to buy, simply because that was the only way we could access such products. When the internet got going, a hole new buying system begin
