please for yan and zoren read this extract from GTV website or yo can also log in www.gtv.tv

    * When does the licence commence?

    * How will you ensure people don’t miss out when you haven’t launched your service yet? How will bars cope?

    * What about football fans in territories where you don’t plan to offer your service this year?

    * How does your Premier League differ from DStv’s?

    * What other live football have you got? What about other sports content?

    * Will you be offering live World Cup 2010 matches to your subscribers?

    * What is the scope of the licence?

    * How much did GTV pay?

    * How did GTV beat other providers to the licence?

Q: When does the licence commence?
A: The licence commences with the 2007/2008 season on the 11 August 2007.
    Top
Q: How will you ensure people don’t miss out when you haven’t launched your service yet? How will bars cope?
A: We understand that many bars and clubs rely on the pulling power of Premier League football so we’ve made it quick and easy for them to switch to GTV. We’ll be giving them significant savings on the previous cost of satellite TV, so they are more than compensated for the minimal effort required to switch. In addition, bars which have not been able to offer live football in the past will find that it is affordable for the first time.
    Top
Q: What about football fans in territories where you don’t plan to offer your service this year?
A: In countries where we will not operate at the start of the season, we are exploring ways to share our content with interested TV providers. We would urge interested parties to contact us on [email protected] for more information.
    Top
Q: How does your Premier League differ from DStv’s?
A: We are opening up a whole new market with our service – revolutionising entertainment for people who have in the past found pay-TV prohibitively expensive and not even relevant to their tastes. Not only will it be more affordable and accessible than ever before but we will also offer substantially more matches - over 80% of Premier League matches will be shown on G-Sports 1. We will feature 10 live games a week, including the best, most nail biting games - those influencing the top of the table, relegation and European competition qualification.
    Top
Q: What other live football have you got? What about other sports content?
A: We will be offering a wide range of world-class international sports content including football, wrestling, boxing, athletics and much more. In addition to live Premiership matches, we are delighted to carry the best of Italian Serie A.
    Top
Q: Will you be offering live World Cup 2010 matches to your subscribers?
A: We continue actively to seek to acquire content that our customers want to watch. Negotiations with content providers are on-going and it is our policy to continually offer fresh, must-see programming.
    Top
Q: What is the scope of the licence?
A: The UK Premiership is by far the most popular football league in Africa. GTV has won the exclusive rights to broadcast the top live UK Premier League matches in sub-Saharan Africa except in South Africa and Nigeria. In total, we’ll broadcast around 80% of all matches, including 10 live matches per week. The licence includes live, delayed and rebroadcast matches, and all of the most decisive, nail biting, relegation and European competition qualifier matches!
    Top
Q: How much did GTV pay?
A: While our agreement with the Premier League does not allow us to disclose our commercial terms, we can tell you that we won the rights with a balance of a fair price and the ability to bring TV into more African homes than ever before.
    Top
Q: How did GTV beat other providers to the licence?
A: GTV won the rights to the Premiership as we will bring the broadcasts to a much wider audience. We believe that live football should be the preserve of the many, not the privileged few. Our set up and subscription costs will be more affordable – giving people the Premiership at around half the cost of the incumbent. Crucially, the Premiership will sit within a bouquet of exceptionally high-quality, varied entertainment.
