Laid off Hungarian Radio employee starts hunger strike

Péter Cs Kádár, a recently laid off employee of the Hungarian Radio (MR), started a hunger strike at 8 am today to protest “the insensitive decision of the radio’s management that sentences a whole family to slow starvation, as well as the continuous humiliation, cheating and ruining of the radio’s employees existentially and professionally,” writes

Cs Kádár had been working at the radio since 1978 and was recently laid off during downsizing. His protests were dismissed by MR President György Such.
