The bigger you can get hold the better.

I'm using 1.8meter here in the middle of North Africa (Libya)

    Cheers

The Astra 1H frequencies can be gotten with 1.20m easily. Not few people even use smaller dishes but for rainy days i'd recommend the bigger size. Coming to the extremely weak Astra 1F frequencies unfortunately a very big dish will catch them. As i've been told with 3m you will get all except 11758H. On a 4.50m also this one working fine. For the 11914H carrying the HD channels i'm afraid i don't have yet any info.

My recommendation is to wait until the launch of Astra 1M next year. Most probably the 1F frequencies will then move to this as predicted stronger satellite. If you cannot wait then be aware that this monster of dish is very expensive and weighty. In any case you will need the help of professional engineers to set it up so it will be about 10-15K€ of what we speak.
