    Default HOW TO CONFIGURE ProgDVB SkyView & DVBViewer for HDTV

    Как уже отмечалось выше, поддержка AVC/H.264 в ProgDVB неофициальна. Сама утечка информации о ней достаточно таинствена. В конце апреля на форуме ProgDVB появилось сообщения о тестовых AVC/H.264 трансляциях на спутнике Ямал-201, 90 в.д и даны ссылки на требуемые модули. Позже была найдена информация, что данные трансляции проводились на презентации технико-внедренческой зоны в г. Томск, во время саммита Россия - Германия 26-27 апреля 2006 года. Вещание осуществлялось в течение нескольких дней из Телепорта Томского государственного университета. На стенде группы компаний "Элекард" (известный разработчик кодеков), впервые в России было продемонстрировано вещание видеосигнала телевидения высокой четкости (HDTV) в стандарте DVB через спутник с использованием видеокодека H.264 AVC.

    Судя по тому, что приведенные в форуме ссылки вели на elecard.net.ru, можно предположить, что поддержку MPEG-4/H.264 к ProgDVB прикрутили разработчики из Elecard. Что в общем-то неудивитетеьно, ибо кодек Elecard всегда был по умолчанию для ProgDVB.

    1) Инсталлируем ProgDVB v4.72.8 (видимо, будет работать любая весия, выпущенная после 20 апреля)

    2) Закачиваем H.264 ProgDVB pack

    3) Копируем файлы из архива в соответствующие папки ProgDVB.

    4) Запускаем reg_avc.bat для регистрации новых фильтров.

    5) Запускаем ProgDVB с ключом /tsmode: ProgDVB.exe /tsmode

    6) Открываем Settings -> Audio and Video, закладка DirectShow. Для TV Channels ставим граф CyberlinkAVC. Устанавливаем рендерер по вкусу (примечание: у меня нормально заработало только с VMR9). Сохраняем установки.

    7) Включаем MPEG-4 HDTV канал (например HD Forum с HotBird). Должна появиться картинка.

    Выбираем File -> Property, открывается окно Decoder info. Кликаем на Cyberlink H.264/AVC Decoder в списке фильтров и жмем кнопку Property.

    9) В открывшемся окне установок фильтра включаем галку Use DxVA (включаем аппаратную поддержку декодирования H.264). Режим Video mode устанавливаем в Bob (или по вкусу). Сохраняем.



    10) Перезапускаем ProgDVB, чтобы включилось аппаратное ускорение. Смотрим.

    11) Если наблюдаем затыки и подергивания: Выбираем File -> Property, открывается окно Decoder info. Кликаем на Mpeg2Demiltiplexer в списке фильтров и жмем кнопку Property.



    В открывшемся окне установок фильтра устанавливаем значение Generation of PSI output в On. Сохраняем. Перезапускаем ProgDVB. У меня после этого затыки пропадают.



    Еще пара комментариев:
    В архиве имеется граф для Elecard AVC/H.264 Decoder - tv.ElecardAVC.xgr. Его также можно использовать. Минусы те же, что и раньше – высокая загрузка процессора и невозможность включить аппаратное ускорение.
    Графы для AVC режима можно сделать самим под ваши кодеки (например, CoreAVC). Но есть пара тонкостей.
    Для начала надо записать .mpg файл с H.264 видео (именно program stream, а не transport stream).
    Далее в GraphEdit добавляем FileSource (Async.) с этим файлом, подключаем к нему Elecard MPEG Demultiplexer.
    Ну и далее – ваши кодеки к H.264 и аудио выходам.
    Сохраняем как XML
    Затем открываем сохранённый файл блокнотом и ищем пины с названиями типа H264 (PID NN @ Prog#MMMM) и Audio (PID NN @ Prog#MMMM) и меняем их на Video и Audio соответственно, сохраняем граф в папку ProgDVB\FilterGraphs.
    После тюнинга граф не откроется в GraphEdit, но будет работать в ProgDVB.
    Резюме: ProgDVB работает практически так же хорошо, как и DVBViewer.

    Есть минусы:
    большая загрузка процессора (в моем случае 40-60% с включенной аппаратной поддержкой декодирования, в DVBViewer – в 1.5 раза меньше);
    более глючная реализация – довольно часто следуют подвисания картинки и затыки со звуком; я подозреваю, что Прог не анонсирует поддержку H.264 именно из-за этого;
    мне не удалось заставить работать звук на AC3 канале – возможно, парсер ProgDVB пока не умеет выделять AC3 звук из MPEG-4 потока.

    Но есть и плюсы:
    поддержка широкого списка sat карт;
    нативная поддержка MD плагинов и, соответственно, возможность просмотра кодированных H.264 каналов.

    Следует иметь в виду, что H.264 будет работать только с картами, могущими выдавать транспортный поток. Т.е. SkyStar1 в пролёте. К огромному сожалению, похоже, что дни этой прекрасной платы сочтены.

    DVBdream

    Творение группы программистов из Турции, програма DVBdream, уже имеет тестовую поддержку AVC/H.264. Я ее протестировал, для просмотра пока не годится - сильные и постоянные затыки.

    Удачная программа румынского програмиста AltDVB, видимо, в ближайшее время обзаведется поддержкой AVC/H.264. В форуме программы на Happysat автор проводит опрос какие функции надо добавить в программу в первую очередь. Поддержка AVC/H.264 на первом месте!

    That sceptics did not speak, and the future of TV is connected with improvement of quality of the transferred(transmitted) image. During an epoch of becoming of TV, low quality of a picture it was defined(determined) by impossibility to generate the image with a lot(plenty) of elements. Benefit was received only by the speaker - in a strip of one analog channel, began possible(probable) to transfer(transmit) 5 - 6 digital quite good qualities. Moreover, sometimes the spectator happens even in loss - aspiring to economy the speaker pushs not 5, but 10 and more channels in транспондер, it is natural the worst quality.
    Several years ago abbreviation HDTV - High Definition TV or in Russian variant ТВВЧ - TV of High Clearness became well-known. Undoubtedly it will make revolution in the world of TV.     HDTV/ÆÉÉÙ?

    • 720р - the Image consists of 720 active lines on 1280 readout in everyone. Progressive development(display), 50 staff/ΓŸΓ‘Β. A parity(ratio) of the parties(sides) - 16:9, square pixels are used. Number of pixels - 921.600. The standard is certain SMPTE as 296M-2001
    Till now there is no common opinion that is better: 2.073.600 чересстрочно or 921.600 построчно? The matter is that images in both formats, 1080i and 720p, look(appear) better in different conditions. The format 1080i is intended for a reconstruction of fine details in the motionless staff and images at insignificant movement or its(his) full absence. This format is better approaches(suits) for " the spatial sanction ". The format 720p has advantages in reproduction of movement. It(he) does not bring visible distortions irrespective of speed of moving objects, therefore possesses the best " the time(temporary) sanction ". Except for that the progressive standard is more simple for a compression and leads to lower speed of data transmission
    The European Union of Speakers (EBU) recommended for an announcement in the Europe to accept a HD-format with progressive scanning 720p, including what this most effective decision from the point of view of economy and width of a strip of an announcement. Nevertheless, the majority of speakers have chosen a format 1080i, referring that is format widely widespread in the world, and also the format of shooting used by the majority of film producers.
    Certainly, use of a format 1080p will eliminate(erase,remove) a problem radically. But вряд-whether there will be it soon...
    Evidently to show change of a situation at transition on HD it is possible as increase in the area of the screen, at the identical size of pixel:



    • SD 4/3 -> 576 lines * 720 points * 25 staff/сек = 10 M of pixels/сек
    • HD 720p -> 720 lines * 1280 points * 50 staff/сек = 50 M of pixels/сек
    • HD 1080i-> 1080 lines * 1920 points * 25 staff/сек = 50 M of pixels/сек

    One important aspect - HDTV approaches the spectator to cinema perception(recognition) of the image. To this fact infrequently pay attention.     Compression MPEG-2

    The image of the standard sanction has the sanction 720 * 576 pixels and speed of an information stream up to 8 Мбит/сек (license DVD-disks). In a practical satellite announcement speeds no more than 5 - 6 Мбит/сек are used, is typical 3 - 4 Мбит/сек, and sometimes and essentially it is less.     Compression MPEG-4/AVC
    As is known, if there is a problem, sooner or later it(she) will be solved. To the aid of speakers send(have come) two new technologies - the advanced standard of digital transfer DVB-S2 and the new standard of a compression of image MPEG-4/AVC. About the first technology we shall talk in other clause(article), here we shall open the second a little.
    Mind(Wit) human is inquisitive and has found what to throw out from a stream of the information, and how to process data on the reception party(side), that visual subjective quality of a picture has not worsened.     • ISO 14496-10 (Video *2), the Advanced Coding of Video (Advanced Video Coding – AVC), as known as H.264
    AVC/H.264 is the part MPEG-4 of the standard defining(determining) one the advanced and technically perfect(absolute) formats of video of coding. It(he) has been in common completed and specified in 2003 by two groups: MPEG (Moving Pictures Experts Group) from the International Organization of Standardization (International Organization for Standardization – ISO and VCEG (Video Coding Experts Group) from the International Telecommunication Union (International Telecommunication Union – ITU) the Organizations of the Incorporated Nations. Directly AVC/H.264 the standard has been developed Joint Video Team (JVT) which includes experts(auditeurs) from MPEG and VCEG. From MPEG, the standard refers to MPEG-4 the Part 10 (ISO 14496-10), and from ITU – H.264 (under number of document ITU). Under this name the format is already widely known. The official name of the new standard, Advanced Video Coding (AVC), has been chosen MPEG as video addition to audio to format Advanced Audio Coding (AAC).
    Unlike standard MPEG-4/ASP (ISO 14496-2), the technologies described in standard MPEG-4/AVC are intended for processing the videosequences which preliminary have been not divided(undressed) into videoplanes.     These shifts it allows to reduce in 2 and more times a stream of transferred(transmitted) data in comparison with MPEG-2. Reduction of a strip of transfer, is compensated by the quantity(amount) which has increased on the order of the calculations demanded both on transferring(transmitting), and on a reception the parties(sides).

    For the sake of justice we shall notice, that recommended to application two competing standards - H.264 and VC-1 based(founded,established) on Windows Media Video Encoder 9 companies Microsoft. But the European speakers have chosen all H.264.
    The Europe
    As already it was marked(celebrated) above translation of the HD-channel in standard MPEG-2 uneconomically enough since one HD-channel demands a strip of transfer sufficient for 4 - 5 channels SD of quality.     Position in the Europe began to vary only three years ago when комнания Euro1080, with assistance of SES-ASTRA and SONY, has begun a test HD-announcement (on September, 13th 2003). Now the company broadcasts three channels - HD1, HD2, HD5 in format MPEG-2 from satellites Astra (a position 19.2E) and Sirius (a position 5.0 E).

    Later the second largest satellite operator was connected to introduction HD, Eutelsat, started demo-channel HD-forum also.
    And only progress of technics(technical equipment) in practical realization of technologies DVB-S2/H.264/has made profitable a HD-announcement. This break has led to that already to the middle 2005 practically large European TV-speakers have declared all forthcoming start of the commercial HD-packages:
    • Premiere. Germany
    • ProSieben. Germany
    • Sat1. Germany
    • BSkyB. The Great Britain
    • BBC. The Great Britain
    • Canal +. France.
    • TPS. France.
    • Sky Italia. Italy.
    Channel Euro1080 too will pass on H.264 to 2007
    Forecasts
    According to English analytical company Intex Management Services, by 2009 share HDTV of an announcement in the Europe will make 7 %. In 2009 in the Europe it will be sold nearby 8 million HDTV of systems that will make about 17 % of sales of TVs in region. If to interpret the figures presented by the company, in 2009 the digital TV will appear in 108 million houses, now this quantity(amount) – nearby 47 million houses. Under other forecasts in 2010 in the Europe it will be totaled from 60 up to 80 satellite, from 21 up to 27 cable and from 4 up to 14 radio HD-channels.
    Development of the HD-market will be accelerated by following factors:
    • Growing availability " HD ready " TVs
    • Availability of HDTV-receivers in the market
    • Achievement by leading providers of paid TV of critical levels of development in all basic markets
    • Increase in volumes of manufacture of a HD-content
    • Increase in number of television HD-channels and HD DVD
    Perhaps sports can be considered(examined) as the locomotive of spectator demand. The basic sports events - Olympiads, the Championships on football - directly influence a break-even sales level of the HD-equipment.

    TV
    Prompt(Impetuous) development HDTV has also "minuses". On a wave of popularity of the standard some manufacturers have begun to speculate on this concept and for increase in sales to position production as HD-technics.
    To keep "cleanliness" of a format and to protect the rights of consumers, in January of this year organization EICTA (European Information and Communications Technology Industry Association) has approved(confirmed) the standard for technics(technical equipment) which can be on sale under label HD-ready. The minimal set of functions of the modern TV compatible to the future transition to digital telecasting is registered In the standard. In the organizations believe, that these measures will protect the ordinary user from mistakes(errors) at purchase of electronics.
    The future
    Developers of company NHK work above the follower of standard HDTV named UHDTV (U – ультра). UHDTV provides not less than 32 million elements of the image with the maximal sanction up to 7680 x 4320. Frequency of a vertical sweep – 60 staff in a second. The sound - is provided 24 channels under the formula 22.2. Format UHDTV provides the size of a diagonal of the screen up to 11,4 m (450 "). At present technologies the volume of the order is necessary for 18 minutes of record in format UHDTV 3,5 terabyte that is equivalent 750 modern DVD.
    Iron

    Research was spent on a following configuration:
    • M/b MSI K8N Neo4 (chipset Nvidia nForce 4 Ultra)
    • CPU AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200 +
    • RAM 2Gb DDR-3200
    • Video Nvidia GeForce 7600GT
    • DVB-card Technisat SkyStar-2
    At once I wish to stop leisure reasonings that supposedly iron too abruptly, etc. At a upgrade of a computer I first of all was guided by minimal requirements of manufacturers for new DVB-S2 cards(maps) - (KNC One TV-Station DVB-S2 Plus and Technotrend S2-3200 HDTV-S2) which software программно decodes H.264 HDTV a stream.     Necessary software
    1. OS Windows XP.
    2. Fresh videos of the driver from Nvidia Forceware. The opportunity of use of hardware acceleration for AVC/WMV has appeared in the winter of 2006, in my opinion from drivers of version 84.21.
    3. Last version Cyberlink PowerDVD 7 . At me PowerDVD.exe v 7.0.1724, and CL264dec.ax v1.7.0.1626. That Cyberlink H.264/AVC Decoder has appeared in codecs, version PowerDVD is necessary Deluxe. The medicine for this purpose is easily searched in a network.

    Browsers.
    For today position with popular вьюерами the following:
    • ProgDVB – has test, informal support MPEG-4
    • MyTheatre and DVBCore based programs – are not able парсить (to assort all, parse) MPEG-4 a stream.

    Exist only 2 programs which have officially declared support MPEG-4 of a videostream:

    SkyView
    It is necessary for viewing: SkyView v1.5117.0.4664/3249NET.

    11) we Press Try – there should be a picture. Columns it is possible to keep button Save.
    The resume: Viewing by means of SkyView is possible(probable). Loading of my processor – 60-100 % in a mode overlay. Thus on complex(difficult) stages we have twitchings. The picture very unimportantly looks(appears) at viewing dynamical video (for example, sports) – размытость and Β« effect of cinema Β». In modes VMR and VMR 9 to look it is practically impossible – the picture strongly twitches (thus loading on the processor increases slightly – probably, bug SkyView). Hardware support of a videocard(videomap) to include it was not possible, it is the big minus.

    DVBViewer
    It is necessary for viewing: DVB Viewer v 3.4.10.13 beta + DVB Viewer H.264 kit v1.2.2. The version license, references(links) I can not give. At desire it is possible to find in networks, as well as a medicine to it(her).

    2) It Is established(installed) DVB Viewer H.264 kit.

    It is started RegEdit. We open key HKCU/Software/Cyberlink/Common/cl264dec. If in HKCU/Software/Cyberlink/Common there is no key cl264dec it(he) should be created. In HKCU/Software/Cyberlink/Common/cl264dec we create new key DVBViewer. We add in it(him) following values:

At use of hardware acceleration (UIUseHVA = 1) loading of my processor makes 20-40 %! (depending on complexity of a stage and used рендерера – Overlay/VMR7/VMR9). Separately I wish to please fans(amateurs) of sports (especially before ЧМ on football) – at hardware acceleration and Bob-deinterlace (UIVMode = 2) a picture absolutely precise both smooth.     Record MPEG-4 of channels
    It is necessary to do(make) record MPEG-4 of channels in a format transport stream (.ts). To look the written down files it is possible by means of TSPlayer, entering in DVB Viewer H.264 kit or by means of PowerDVD.
    For TSPlayer adjustments(options) are very similar on DVBViewer: it is necessary to expose Cyberlink H.264/AVC Decoder and to create key TSPlayer in HKCU/Software/Cyberlink/Common/cl264dec with the same values, as for DVBViewer. Also TSPlayer allows to carry out primitive резку the written down files ts.

    ProgDVB
    As already it was marked(celebrated) above, support AVC/H.264 in ProgDVB is informal. Information leakage about it(her) is enough таинствена.     2) Закачиваем H.264 ProgDVB pack

    4) It is started reg_avc.bat for registration of new filters.

    6) It is opened Settings-> Audio and Video, bookmark DirectShow. For TV Channels we put columns CyberlinkAVC. We establish(install) рендерер to taste (the note: at me has normally earned only with VMR9). We keep installations.


    7) It is included MPEG-4 HDTV the channel (for example HD Forum with HotBird). There Should be a picture.
    It is chosen File-> Property, window Decoder info opens. We click on Cyberlink H.264/AVC Decoder in the list of filters and we press button Property.


    9) In the opened window of installations of the filter we include daw Use DxVA (it is included hardware support of decoding H.264). Mode Video mode is established(installed) in Bob (or to taste). We keep.

    10) It is restarted ProgDVB that hardware acceleration has joined. We look.
    11) If it is observable затыки and twitchings: we Choose File-> Property, window Decoder info opens. We click on Mpeg2Demiltiplexer in the list of filters and we press button Property.

    In the opened window of installations of the filter we establish(install) value Generation of PSI output in On. We keep. We restart ProgDVB. At me after that затыки vanish.

    Still pair comments:
    • In archive is available columns for Elecard AVC/H.264 Decoder - tv. ElecardAVC.xgr. It(he) also can be used. The same minuses, as earlier – high loading of the processor and impossibility to include hardware acceleration.
    • Columns for AVC a mode can be made under your codecs (for example, CoreAVC). But there is a pair subtleties.
    1. For the beginning it is necessary to write down .mpg a file with H.264 video (program stream, instead of transport stream).
    2. Further in GraphEdit it is added FileSource (Async.) with this file, we connect to it(him,them) Elecard MPEG Demultiplexer.
    3. Well and further – your codecs to H.264 and audio to outputs(exits).

    The resume: ProgDVB works practically as well, as well as DVBViewer.
    There are minuses:
    • Greater(Big) loading of the processor (in my case of 40-60 % with the included hardware support of decoding, in DVBViewer – in 1.5 times it it is less);
    • More глючная realization – often enough follow подвисания pictures and затыки with a sound; I suspect, that Programs does not announce support H.264 because of it(this);
    • I was not possible to force manage a sound on AC3 the channel – probably, парсер ProgDVB is not able to allocate yet AC3 a sound from MPEG-4 a stream.
    But there are also pluss:
    • Support of the wide list sat cards(maps);
    • нативная support MD of plug-ins and, accordingly, an opportunity of viewing coded H.264 channels.
    It is necessary to mean, that H.264 will work only with the cards(maps), able to give out a transport stream. I.e. SkyStar1 in prosummer. To a huge regret, similar, that days of this fine payment are found(considered).

    DVBdream
    The creation of group of programmers from Turkey, програма DVBdream, already has test support AVC/H.264. I have tested it(her), viewing does not suit yet - strong and constant затыки.

    AltDVB

    Were tested following AVC/H.264 codecs:

    • Cyberlink H.264/AVC decoder - www.cyberlink.com
    • Elecard AVC/H.264 Decoder - www.elecard.com
    • CoreAVC Video Decoder - coreavc.corecodec.org
    It was possible to force to work on SkyView and DVBViewer only Cyberlink. Elecard hardly worked on SkyView with loading the processor of 100 %. Hardware support at Elecard is absent as a class. Intervideo and old CoreAVC at all did not work.
    One of these days has left new CoreAVC v1.1 the Decoder has no hardware support, but has shown brilliant results:
    • The picture is much better Cyberlink (IMHO). Especially on strongly shaken channels (Arabian фид with ЧМ - ~ 9 Мбит/сек)
    • Loading of the processor essentially below all other program codecs also is comparable to loading at hardware support. On my two-nuclear Athlon 64 X2 4200 - 35-50 %.
    • Perfectly and smoothly works with SkyView
    • Works on DVBViewer, but with small затыками
    • To construct columns for ProgDVB it has not turned out yet
    About information SEAL, minimal loading CPU leaves at installations:
    • Skip all debloking
    • Software doulbe framerate
    So, for today we have: excellent(different) program codec CoreAVC v1.1, the codec with hardware support from Cyberlink. Practically all popular вьюеры already are able, or test, or in the near future will get support H.264/AVC! Unfortunately, lags behind MyTheatre. The program in many respects advanced, but with H.264 has appeared in a tail of the list.

    Other configurations.
    I have lead additional testing videocard(videomap) Nvidia GeForce 6600 with processors Athlon XP 1700 + and Athlon XP 2800 +. Unfortunately, normal viewing on these systems it has not turned out. The hardware mode for H.264 on GF6600 does not join. Approximately Athlon 1700 + shows 5-10 staff second, Athlon 2800 – 15-20 staff.

    Conclusions
    For today comfortable and problemless viewing H.264 HDTV of channels on a computer is already possible(probable). To the hardware of a computer for H.264 HDTV it is possible to consider(count) requirements of manufacturers of new iron proved in case of completely program viewing. At use of modern videocards(videomaps), for example Nvidia GeForce 7600GS, GT, ATI Radeon X1300, Х1600, requirements to the processor essentially fall.     canalele hd (mpeg-4) merg si cu dvbviewer ge 2.0.1.0 cu coreavc 1.1 dar si cu codecul h264 de la cyberlink7, oricum nu-mi merge bine, tot la 100%, am doar un fx 5700 si un amd slab, dar cu placi video mai bune va merge mult mai bine.

    speram ca altxro nu mai are asa mult pana pune si in urmatoarea versiune de alt-dvb aceste optiuni pentru canalele mpeg-4. ar fi interesant sa mearga mpeg-4 bine si pe un simplu dvb-s nu s2, oricum merge si de la soft nu trebuie neaparat dvb-s2. poate se lucra la codecuri si merge bine si cu un simplu fx 5700 acus jumate de an nu-mi mergeau nici mpeg-2-urile bine, tot 100%, iar acum 50-60% nici nu se intrerupe si merge oglinda, sa speram ca va fi candva si cu mpeg-4 asa, dar nu prea cred

    H.264 Playback

    WMV-HD Playback
    WMV-HD (Windows Media Video High Definition) is a file format developed & promoted by Microsoft (Windows). This high definition video looks sharper and clearer than regular video, especially in big display screen.
    For those who enjoys high video quality, WinDVD also supports the playback of WMV-HD. As long as you have a high-definition display you will be able to watch movies in better quality.
    Playing WMV-HD
    · Insert your WMV-HD disc into the drive, playback will start automatically with WinDVD working in the background.
