    in madurai, we r using atleast 120 cm offset dish...but only can get vertical signal only......but in ur area u can get horizontal also ,with the same dish.....cozed , the kovai and mettupalayam r in same hight nearly.( in kovai-with 120 cm ,can receive both vertical and horizontal beams)

    Dish size is important. Height of your town is not at all improtant. It would be too silly to say 400mtrs would fetch more satellite signals with same dish. All the best

    Those mountains would be a problem only if they come between us and the satellite. Our elevation won't be a matter. 400mtr is just 400mtr closer to the satellite which is situated atleast 35,000 kms away from us.
