    Default Receivers on 12volts ??

    Apart from DM500s
which other receivers are operational on 12v dc.?
or use ac-dc adaptable power for 12 to 24v.
mostly fta receivers, cheap enough for experiments.
    any ideas please!

As far as I know all the receivers work on that voltage only. If you open the receiver you can see the step down transformer and dc converstion circuit.

Now a days in some they have given the DC adaptor outside instead of fixing them internally. Humax and Thompson receivers given by Tatasky has the adaptor outside.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks lnb15k,
thats exactly what i wanted the kind that have the adapters outside, and will check on which humax is fta, cheap enuf and readily available for a camping van, that i do not have to use an inverter, but can power direct on car power.

Every receiver has a down converter + a inverter unit inside the receiver. So I think you can use any receiver for it. In my Eurostar receiver power down converter unit is seperate from the processing unit inside the receiver. If it is the same in other receivers you can just put a few wires and can enjoy during the campings. No need to buy a new receiver

    Thanks lnb15k,
in most of the receivers you cannot manage to drive that display from a 12v source, and the power source therefore has to be mains 240v or 110v ac down converted by supply to 12,5,35ac or dc etc, so you find the ones that can work on 12v have no front display, unless with an inbuilt up inverter.
thats what i have actually found out

while the rest are 12 and below.
