Question Adding a C-Band LNBF to Ku-Band Dish

    Hi Friends

Is it possible to add an additional C-Band LNBF to my 120cm Ku-band solid dish ? If yes, how can I do that and what extra equipments I need to add the additional LNBF aside to my existing Ku-band LNBF ?

    Thanx

I think it is possible but the satellite to be received on the c band lnbf must be having a very high signal level, otherwise it wont be watchable.
C Band good reception should start from 180 to 240cm (diameter) dishes,
    whether offset or prime.
You only add a horizontal bracket for c band lnb off the ku lnb hold. this should be designed by you , not available in shops.

the full answer is yes,i have explain it here on this forum a while ago
my ku lnb is pointing at 70deg east attached with c band pointing at 64deg east with my 2.4m mesh dish, using another 1.8m dish with the ku pointing
at 7deg west with two c band attached on it one at 22deg west and the other at 27deg west,it will only work for u if the signal quality of the satellites u want is strong in your area

Hmm, the OP said he only has a 120 cm dish, which is awfully small for even strong c-band signals. Contrary to the Ku-band, a solid dish hardly offers much added gain on the C-band!
Christo is using a 180 cm dish, which should give pretty good reception on the stronger birds, even with the lnb a bit offset...

    Hi Pondiguy,
your dish looks like it is 180cm and for all the sats you are able to get , is your dish motor driven for single ku, and single c band?
