    @danny786,

Yes it's confirmed according to my friend (who is dream insider) but your xsat-cdtv430 still has a future when they implement it but in legal way. Bye bye sweet dream...

    @carlo,

nope, i think this is about the implementation of a new encryption system once the merger pushes thru. the xsat430 boxes can be configured and reloaded with a new software (TFC is using the same boxes here now) to accomodate the new encryption (if hardware allows it).

    Default dream tv ?

i thought day dreaming is good exercise on our brain.

because of this news dreaming of big profit on dream tv is a big head ache on every businessman here.

i would rather say that day dreaming is over.

put your receiver on sale before it happens...

no need to sell your receivers prematurely. let's wait and see what happens. besides, i think most of the dreamers here have units equipped with CA slots, so they can still purchase valid subscription cards after repatching their decoders.

That's why I use Emetabox 3's.. so that my customers can always upgrade to another satellite or to a card for Dream TV if they allow us to use cards separate from their decoders.

    It's been fun.

TFC is using Irdeto2 and the Nokia is Nagravision only so no compatability.

Lets not all jump to conlusions and make people anxious for know reason.

We all have friends whose sisters uncles cousins mothers son works for Dream TV in Manila hehehehe...

    No rumour mongering please.

Even Original Nokia Dream TV decoders cannot open Hallmark or National Geographic... so it's definitely a problem with Dream TV not being able to either download or uplink the signal thru their sat or ground station equipment.

    Default nokia receivers and nagra2

    i2e,

nokia boxes that cannot handle nagra2 ?

should the merger materialize and pmsi gets absorbed by the larger
outfit, the fate of this box may not even be an issue.

    consider this:

1.how many have made an outright purchase of the unit?
2.one of the touted feature of the nagra system is its "open ended
architecture" . thats why there is nagra 2 and nagra 2.xx (ad nauseam)
    3. following on from 2., replacement ,may just be an option. programming
of few basic channels may then be possible. with the old nokia unit.
    4. the problem of replacement will not be the that of the pmsi but of the new outfit.
    .......

the real pressing issue for me then is the availability of "solutions"
should the bigger provider come into being with a harder encryption.

(imagine being left out with channels mostly from mailand china.)

i really hope that help is just nearby

Nagra1 decoders cannot be software upgraded to Nagra2 architecture.... so who is going to pay to replace the decocders... let alone all new hardware for the ground stations running into millions of US$.... To do that Dream would also need to raise prices by 100%... something that I don't think the people in the Philipines could afford. Dream can be cheap due to high number of subscribers.

It cost Foxtel in Australia US$450million to go from irdeto1 to Irdeto2/nds with it's new decoders... not the sort of money Dream TV has to throw around

In anycase I still has PAS10 Multichoice Africa as well as several other sats at home... Maybe I'll have to CS my irdeto2 card to all my buddies in Asia lol

    Default continue dreaming.

    friends,

continue dreaming, it is just a rumor like ideto2engineer was saying.

we are so bombarded by "Buzz","Showbiz no.1 and "etk".

that is why we are easily carried away by gossip.

it is the fault of "Spice Platinum", filipinoes had nothing to talk about they turn the topic on dr**m tv.

there is noting wrong in dreaming.

    FYI

    END of RUMORS!
    \--------------------\

Dream have a scrolling message on all channels saying they have a problem and where the new channels are

NOTE: if the gossip moungers bothered to look two days ago they would have seen them, but NO this is to hard for them to look at their TV's
