    they are not all the same and each software gives you details of whether it is reversed cable or straight for the rs 232.
    but for the diagram zoren (above} has done what is necessary.

    i have samson ss1 , my laptop is hp compaq nx6110

    system is xp pro SP2 updated all files and framwork from microsoft.com

    my cable is usb to rs232 female db9 ( driver installed ) under
    -Ports(COM & LPT)
    _USB2.0

    and i config port 2 from device manager >> USB2.0(COM2)

    port 2 not use another device

    i have 2 new file for ubdat samson ss1

    file is :

    Upgrade138-301.exe (CX24301 MFC Application)

    SAMMONV1.85_138_301-2007-06-12.bin

    my samson version is:
    S/W Ver: 1.74
    Loader Ver: 1.09
    Date: 2006.12.08

    i trying to ubdate my samson ss1 but it is not ubdate

    the Upgrade138-301.exe not tell me error

    tell me sendding software...

    that is my probleme please any brother help me what can i do . thanks

    Same old crappy problem with lap tops.
    I used a 8 USD cable USB to serial & it did not work
    then I used 30 USD cable from Targus with no results.
    I have given up on this


    Some experts say to disable Microsoft ActviSync & try, it did not work for me maybe see if it works for you.

    Sometimes it could be some software that I have which is having a conflict with the usb to rsr232 cable.

    The same loader & null modem cable works clean as a whistle on a desk top, so the problem is generally with usb to serial software I guess.

    yes domo6 u post is right .

    usb to rs232 is good put mybe not support all dvb or all pc


    brothers

    my problems is finish . today i am updated my dvb samson

    with my freind by>receiver to receiver (old connector rs232 2 female db9)

    now

    my receiver ver date is 2007-06-12

    tps is work and many channels

    domo6 try this method >receiver to receiver

    (old connector rs232 2 female db9)

    or by personal computer to receiver by connector rs232 2

    female db9

    i think usb to rs232 is lost your time / Thank u for post
