Calculate the lengths of rods and fix for optimum signal strength by the following formula given by fiazi bhai in his thread :
Focal Length in inches =
(D X D)
______ - 0.25
(d X 16)
D = Diameter of dish in inches
d = Depth of dish in inches
Please read again, it is very clearly " Focal Length in inches = " , it is not rod length, it is Focal Length as mentioned above. So what is not clear ?
For rod length you have to measure physically, from the circumference-fixing-hole to the Feed-horn-fixing-hole, placed at the Focal Point on above calculated point.

but since the focal point is the most critical you can also measure the rod lengths physically

You will find that the focal lenght has a bit of latitude on a C-band set up, due to the fact that the LNB passes through the Scaler ring.
The focal length is then measured from the centre of the dish to the "blue" cap on the LNB, not the scalar ring.
