u dont need any special tools to locate the satellite u want. w/ your receiver and a t.v. u can set up everything. the receiver is your actual signal finder and the t.v. is your monitor to see your satellite signal strength. those equations are only your referrence. if you are on the rigth track you should be able to locate the satellite you want.

by the way you are asking questions, it would be moot to suggest a satellite finder. just do as zoren suggested, or part ways with a few Dirhams and get a technician to do it for you (and you observe how he is doing it), that way, you will learn.

boknoy_ph is a practical advice, an spectrum analyser is an overkill unless it is your trade. for a few dirhams(get a Bangladesi they come cheap) you get an education on satellite disk installation.

    Hello friend
Use a s/w FastSatFinder its really helpful to track/find a satellite.
The new version is a shareware so you can only use it upto 15days, but you can find the older FREE versions of the same app which will help you a lot ..... But for this you need a PC.

its getting more complicated.... now u need ur PC on ur rooftop to find the satellite (instead of the conventional t.v. & receiver w/c is the least easier method of finding satellite.)

now this is really going WAY OFF TOPIC from what the original poster intended. he is just a newbie, and here you all are, suggesting for him to buy yet another hardware and carry his whole dang PC on the rooftop (lucky if the bloke has a laptop, lol).
