Saturday, January 13th, 2007

TV 2 Norway recently became the country’s first broadcaster to launch a full live-TV service online, strengthening its position as the leading provider of video on demand and web-TV services in Norway. The new service enables Norwegian viewers to watch all the channels in TV 2’s channel portfolio live online in high quality, including TV 2, TV 2 Zebra, the TV 2 Film Channel and the new 24-hour news channel, Nyhetskanalen, which is due to launch on 15 January.

All that is needed to watch the live channels is a PC with a broadband connection. The live channels can only be viewed from within Norway while on-demand content can be viewed from anywhere in the world.

Simultaneously with the launch of the live services TV 2 web-TV also changed its name to TV 2 Sumo. TV 2 Sumo is now the collective name for all web-TV, IPTV and mobile TV services from TV 2 and will create a more distinguishable branding and profile for these services.
