Dutch media magnate John de Mol has bought a 5.15% state in Endemol, the company he co-founded with Joop van den Ende in 1994 and then sold to the Spanish company Telefónica in 2000. Telefónica is now looking to divest itself of Endemol. ”As an investment fund, we’re always interested in shares in successful media companies. Endemol is such a company”, said a spokesperson for De Mol’s investment company Cyrte, formerly Talpa Capital.
