The Christian News Agency BosNewsLife reports that key dissidents from the former Soviet Union have demanded an investigation into the operations of the BBC Russian Service, amid fears that former and current agents of the Russian secret services and ex-Communists infiltrated the organization. In an open letter published this week in British media, dissidents complained about the allegedly pro-Kremlin tone of the BBC programmes. and bias towards Russian President Vladimir Putin, a former KGB agent.

Andy Sennitt comments: If the BBC Russian service is so pro-Kremlin, then why have its broadcasts via domestic transmitters in Russia been disrupted, apparently deliberately? As long as the service appears to be under attack from both sides, it must be doing something right. Too many people, and not only in Russia, want the media to reflect only their own personal point of view.
