you are shure of c/sharing, but does not have double tuner, for two satellites.
the ethernet pot works for c/sharing, and also can connect to comp through the usb port for c/sharing. so works c.s with or without computer.
price is around or above us$500

whatever it needs to card sharefrom the comp is built in the receiver, processor, links, memory etc, and thats the reason it can even use the hard disk. though expensive its worth every cent in satellite use for an enthusiast.

dj you can go for it because of price, but remember there is also 7200, and as boknoy mentions maybe 8000 soon, plus i would first learn about satellites from other receivers, cheaper before settling on a dreambox.
make sure you can manupulate a computer by programming etc for you to enjoy dreambox. otherwise you wont find it as good as you should have found.
    enjoy

there's even 7025si (twin tuner). and prepare to have at least a few weeks learning linux (if you don't have any inkling as to how linux and the commands works, it's high time you learn NOW).

but for the price, it is a bargain. then again, if you can hold on to your cash and wait a month or two, HDTV ready DMs are about to roll out. much better to stay and wait for a few time than buying yet another hardware to upgrade later on (HDTV is the way to go nowadays). but if you dont have any plans of getting HDTV anytime soon, then buy the box
