    it is extremely cruel of the eutelsat company to deprive pakistanis of the hotbird signals. this is a downright discriminatory act against us.

    How much signal was lost? Say for example from 90% to 60%, like that? Or the loss was more like from 90% to 30% etc.?

    few most stronger frequencies like 12207,12245 but since these TPs shifted to Hobtbird8 ,,no signals

    why do you say so? were those transponders AIMED COMMERCIALLY for the central asia region? just because a transponder is weak, it does not mean that it is discriminatory in nature. if that is the case, then Astra is most discriminatory against all of us as it is "depriving" us of a lot of good channels.

    we should be thankful instead for whatever signal we receive. we are getting them for free anyway..............

    Default Hotbird

    Brother boknoy is right! Hotbird is not aimed commercially for Asia. You should be at least grateful that you can get signal from your area. Besides I noticed most posts asking about keys or s/w for STB to open sex channels from this bird. Is it worth complaining?

    May Allah have pity on you. This is Ramadan, the time to reflect on our sins and to do the right thing as believers. I do not pretend to be pure but I'm trying hard.

    Thanks for the reply. So we are not getting anything from this Satellite which we welcomed when it was launched? or some of the transponders from this satellite are weak?

    satellite tv is global in nature and when a beam that is already working is withdrawn, it certainly becomes a discriminatory action.
    as far as religious angles are concerned, this forum being exploratory in function, those who feel offended by any material appearing on it had better just try to tolerate it. it is not obscenity that we all seek, but there are many other things too.

    maybe those beams/channels were NOT MEANT to reach your/our area in the first place? these are commercial satellites, with commercial purposes. it is therefore at their DISCRETION where to focus their beams. take for example most of Sky Italia packages, it is on super beam which is mostly focused on EU areas, because THAT'S WHERE THEIR CUSTOMER BASE is. no use for them to transmit on areas where they won't gain a single cent, right?

    anyway, if you feel that it is discriminatory against you (specifically as you mentioned) and you feel that you have the right to rant and complain against this, why not take it up with eutelsat and complain that you cannot receive the signal because you paid for the subscription to those transponders? or you can take it up against the providers who leased those transponders, say to them you cannot get their signal in Pakistan? i would be most interested on their reply to you, if any.

    we are always fast to cry "foul" when there isn't any and simply muddies the situation.

    @boknoy
    my cpmment was directed exactly towards the eutelsat company which i had hoped would reach them through their internet monitoring cell, while you intervened. i still hope that they would read it and try to obloge this part of the world.
