    Default lifetime of motorized dishes

I'm seriously considering buying a second hand 2 year old motorized dish that can rotate around 40 degrees. How many years do motors in these dishes last without maintenance? If you have one, how many years do you have it for? thanks.

    hi yuriythebest,
old motors could last 5 to 10yrs no maintenance, also subject to users operations. but all the current manufactures arereally meant fo 2 to 5years also subject to use. once you get it working take the risk and buy so long as its a good bargain. have seen one old motor on use now for 20years , have also seen a new type go within 20 months of operation.

you can also tell me how to connect a 24volts dish motor to the current digital receivers cause of voltage difference, am told of the control box which i havent set my eyes on.

For a H-H mount I saw several specifications saying:
    Lifetime min. 50,000 cycles over 180° (90°E + 90°W)

A local distributer told me about 5 years for an offset dish of 1.2 m up to 10 - 15 yrs for a small one. No ideea for polar mounts.
