Orbit is a s*c* provider and you watch it without card on a Philips? Are you the first one who reports s*c* cardsharing works on a Philips goldbox by serial port or did you manually enter keys in the firmware?

As what i know, when u subscribe (legally) to orbit, the shop or agent will provide you with free STB and accressories, to activate the STB provide by ORBIT (Ussually Phillips) the shop which u purchased the STB will get the serial code of the STB (at the back) & they will inform said S/C then after a while Main ORBIT will activate your signal on your STB, so in short no need for card, & for not renewing the Subscription, your signal will be cutoff and goes with pinoy combo as well.

    regards

all hardware base encryption systems works like that like AFRTS (Scientific Atlanta Rcvr) so there's no way to hack the encryption system?

analogous to breaking into a hardware based firewall of a network!
