LTV joins quits Multichoice Cyprus

Premium channel LTV has quit the Nova Cyprus satellite platform in favour of the Cyprus Telecommunications Authority’s miVision cable platform. The channel remains available to subscribers of the analogue platform Multichoice Cyprus. In an increasingly acrimonious dispute, LTV said it had withdrawn the service from Nova as a result of an “unreasonable refusal” to pay subscriber fees for April and May.

Multichoice Hellas, Nova’s parent company, says the disagreement is the result of “financial differences”. LTV has around 65,000 subscribers, but the greater majority (40,000) are still tuned to the analogue service. In a statement Multichoice said that it was not its policy to air internal disagreements in public, but condemned the use of subscribers to solve corporate matters.
