Film4 for free!
The newly branded channel won't cost you a penny from July 23.

Channel 4 has announced plans to launch the brilliant FilmFour channel as a free service from July 23.
Newly branded as Film4, the channel will be available on all major UK digital platforms and screen a mixture of old films, cult classics and the best in new flicks from 6pm to 6am every day.
The major change to scheduling will be the fact that adverts will screen during films, but aside from that, C4 director of TV Kevin Lygo said that little will change:
'Film4 will continue to act as an editor of choice for its viewers, selecting its schedules on the basis of quality as well as box office appeal and helping the audience get under the skin of the film industry.'
He continued 'Increasing Film4's distribution and making it freely available will help maintain and protect Channel 4's stake in British film for the next 25 years.'
Having been a fee-paying subscriber since the channel first launched, I can honestly say that the quality in programming has made it worth every penny, so this announcement is good news for all fans of great cinema in the UK!
