Premiere acquires Pay-TV rights package for UEFA Cup and three UEFA Super Cups

Attractive addition to the premium subscription PREMIERE FUSSBALL INTERNATIONAL

Premiere to show all UEFA Cup matches live, starting with quarter finals

UEFA Super Cup between Barcelona FC and Sevilla FC live on August 25

Premiere is extending its premium subscription PREMIERE FUSSBALL INTERNATIONAL with a further attractive offering and will be showing the UEFA Cup live starting with the upcoming season. The Munich-based pay-TV operator has secured the pay tv broadcasting rights for all quarter- and semi-finals and the final of the UEFA Cup competition. The contract runs from 2006 up to and including 2009. In total, Premiere will broadcast thirteen UEFA Cup matches per season, of which at least eight will be aired exclusively. Of the eight first and second legs in the quarter-finals, the Munich-based pay-TV operator can exclusively broadcast six matches as well as one match per day of the semi-finals. The package also includes three UEFA Super Cups.

Each of the UEFA Cup quarter-final first and second legs as well as the semi-finals will be held on a Thursday in March, April and May of 2007, 2008 and 2009. The final takes place in May at a neutral location, in 2007 it will be held on May 16 in Glasgow, Hampden Park. The UEFA Super Cup will take place in August 2006, 2007 and 2008. The winner of the UEFA Super Cup is determined each year in Monaco between the winner of the UEFA Champions League and the winner of the UEFA Cup. This match always heralds the start of the next European Cup season. For the first time, Premiere will broadcast the UEFA Super Cup match on August 25 between Barcelona FC and Sevilla FC live from Stade Louis II (kick-off at 8:45 p.m.).
