The French media authority Conseil d’Etat et du Conseil supérieur de l’audiovisuel (CSA) has set the final date for analogue switch-off in the country as 2011, with a gradual phasing out of analogue transmissions starting in 2009.
The timetable forms part of the future plans for French broadcasting, including the rollout of HDTV and TV-to-mobile, which the CSA will present in mid-July to the government.
