Sony Pictures Television International’s AXN has tapped Stephen White to succeed Tom Davidson as the general manager of its Central European operations.

Based in Budapest, White assumes responsibility for the channel’s day-to-day operational management and development, reporting to the SVP of international networks for Europe, Ross Hair. He replaces Davidson, who has been promoted to SPTI’s VP of international networks for Europe.

White will oversee management of AXN’s programming, sales, marketing and technical operations and will be responsible for expanding channel distribution in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. He will also be charged with expanding the network’s ad sales businesses in Poland and Romania, as well as developing expansion opportunities in neighboring territories.

Prior to joining AXN, White was based in Australia as COO of the cable channel TV1, a joint venture in which SPTI is a partner.
