BSkyB and BT, in a joint bid, have won the rights for the “near-live” broadcasts to 242 games per season through 2010 of the Barclays Premiership, via a deal with the FA Premier League.

The three-year deal covers the 2007-08, 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons. It enables Sky and BT to offer full delayed coverage or extended highlights of all Barclays Premiership matches not broadcast live. BT plans to air the matches on an on-demand basis on its BT Vision TV service slated for a fall launch.

Earlier this month, Sky was awarded four packages of live rights, each of 23 matches. Setanta Sports was also awarded two packages of live rights.
