Kabel Deutschland (KDG) has agreed to distribute the Premiere HD package to its 9.6 million households. It means that Premiere’s HD offering, including the Fifa World Cup, will be made available to over 60% of German cable households following a similar agreement last year with Kabel BW. Initially two of the channels, Premiere HD Sport and Premiere HD Film, will be carried on the KDG network. Meanwhile, the Humax PR-HD1000 C has become the first cable HD receiver to be certified to receive Premiere HD. The broadcaster is confident there will be enough receivers in the market ahead of the World Cup. KDG will offer its two channels for €9.90 to subscribers of the Premiere Komplett package.
