    Default TATA Sky SELECTS NDS SYSTEMS FOR DTH SERVICE IN INDIA


    Mumbai, India - January 30, 2006 - Tata Sky Ltd., the DTH venture of TATA and STAR, today announced their partnership with NDS Group Plc, the leading provider of technology solutions for digital pay TV. Tata Sky has chosen NDS end-to-end solutions for the launch of the company's Direct-to-Home (DTH) television service in India in mid-2006. Many leading DTH operators such as BSkyB (UK), Foxtel (Australia), and Sky Italia (Italy) have also deployed NDS solutions for their business.

    Tata Sky is investing in building a high quality digital infrastructure in the country to offer a superior television viewing experience to Indian households. The service will enhance the choice for viewers looking for the best of pay television services in the country. Tata Sky aims to become India's largest digital television platform, offering consumers a wide array of programming choices with interactive features and superior picture and sound quality.

    Mr Vikram Kaushik, CEO, Tata Sky Ltd said, "We are committed to building a state-of-the-art DTH operation in India for which we have selected NDS to provide end-to-end solutions. This will enable us to transfer control and choice into the hands of subscribers."

This is an endorsement of the NDS position as the leader in conditional access systems. As systems integrator, NDS is uniquely capable of delivering the complex platform in the aggressive timescale set by Tata Sky."

    NDS is working with Tata Sky to build a-world-class broadcast infrastructure. NDS systems will play a key role in the end-to-end system architecture and launching the nationwide digital service. The NDS VideoGuard conditional access solution provides superior broadcast security, and enables Tata Sky to offer multiple programming and pricing packages. [email protected] interactive infrastructure will enable Tata Sky to offer interactive services to subscribers. NDS engineers in Bangalore will be key in the design, delivery and service support of the end-to-end solution.

    The digital technology of Tata Sky DTH service will eliminate many recurrent problems that consumers face while watching television in India. The DTH satellite signal is always on, thus will eliminate instances of service downtime caused by power cuts and cable cutting. The Tata Sky service will have fixed channel positions and pre-tuned audio levels.

    Again kamal.. old news.. i think you are just copying it from tatasky.com website and posting now.. ok these topics already exists in this forum. better post some news about the testing of tata sky signals and also the date of it launching its DTH services etc.. ok hope you dont mind it..

    hello,, sharaf can you please explain about those TP's more.. YOu just wrote the TP's and network search.. ON which satellite is it.. Is it on Insat 4A or not.. ok reply here again.. Also let us know what channels are avialalble on this TP's.. where did u get it from

    hello sharaf.. Please try to post the source for this.. V will be thankful to you.. You wrote that you are able to see 74 channels name and ecrypted... but please let us know if you are able to watch with C-band or Ku band dish and lnb.. ok reply soon..

    Dear,

    INSAT 4A 83 Degree East (with INSAT 2E and 3B) - C band channels

    BBS, Powervision and KOLKATTA is working but how about his 74 channels

    Dear Sharaf... R u kidding or what.. If you are true then please post the TP's and also the Channels names ifyou can.. I dont think there are 74 channels on insat 4a yet.. i had checked many websites but no information about it anywhere... only few channels and that too on C band frequencies not on KU band.

    hello.. did anyone tried to check whether the 74 channels are avialble on insat 4a which was posted by Sharaf.. if anyone had checked then please post it here..so that v can also check it..

    Hello Sharaf.. if you cant see the name of channel then how did u count it as 74.. What is service 1001 ..

    So you are getting EPG for channels history, Fox or what..

    Please take sometime and post complete information.. Because you are the only first person who is posting the TP 's on insat 4a KUband Tp's

    Thanks for both Sharaf and Kamal for your good work and posting the Tps.. i did not check it yet but in advance thanks for posting it.. it would have been better if you could have posted channels names also if they are avaialble.. neverthless thanks again..
