Liberty Global has sold its Swedish broadband cable operation UPC Sweden to the private investment firms The Carlyle Group and Providence Equity Partners for SKr3,269 million (€350.6m). UPC has recently signalled its intention to withdraw from some markets – it is already in the process of pulling out of France and Norway – while building its business in others.
