otherwise buy sim card locally. it would cost you just Dh 165 (US $45). plus you will get extra credit of Dh 10.

    Default PHONES IN DUBAI

YOU HAVE THE RIGHT IDEA BUT I AM SURE I SAW TOP UP CARDS SELLING FOR DH 50.
MORE IMPORTANTLY ALL VISITORS TO DUBAI SHOULD KNOW : A HANDPHONE IS ESSENTIAL. OUTSIDE THE AIRPORT IT IS PRACTICALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND A COIN OPERATED PUBLIC PHONE.
THE ONLY ONE I SAW WAS AT CITY CENTER SHOPPING MALL AND TOOK A HLF DH COIN WHICH WAS APPEARED TO BE UNOBTAINABLE AND OUT OF CIRCULATION !!

better bring your own roaming account sim card as i really doubt they will sell sim cards to foreigners, especially here in GCC.

Brother mosat, boknoy_ph is right! But you can also buy a prepaid card for phone booths here in Dubai. If you buy this one, you must specify a prepaid card for phone booths. But to avoid hassles, you better bring your own mobile phone with roaming service.

    You are very welcome here

    Default sim card in dubai

For any one can get a sim card in dubai. even it is very easy. no need to visit telephone company office. from many shops in the market you can purchase etisalat prepaid mobile chip at the rate of AED 165.00. After purchasing the chip, just fax one application form, passport copy, the visa copy (any visa - visit, transit, tourist any visa) to a designated fax number. you form is a simple one which should be filled with the passport no., the prepaid chip details you just purchased etc. you can avail the form also from the same shop where from the chip purchased. after faxing, immediately the chip get activated.

everything simple, no hassle, no dealy, no restriction...
