Here in Karachi North Nazimabad, the signal of hotbird drops within a second from 80% to 0% at around 3:00 am on channels like XXL, RTL9 etc. and two hours later around 5:00 am, the signal restores from 0% to 80% within a second … as if they have turned off and then back on…. I have come to notice this problem in the months of March till august and at around the colder part of the year, the timing shifts from 00:00 to 2:00 am of weak signals. This happens all the time here in my part of Karachi…. I brought an expert for dish alining at home and he said that the hills, which are about 6-7 miles from my place could be locking the signals at that particular time.

I have 8 feet fiber dish, BG555 receiver and Lazer 0.9 dB KU band LNB.

If any one can shed more light on this, I b really grateful.

dear Friend Shezie and Fazal sher,

I also live in North Karachi, dear i said on other forum that this is factor of Humidity, no rock no hill, as i live in north karachi, Hill point is at great distance,

so as Asif bhai said this is a technical problem but i think environment and Atmosphere cause this defect, i m recieving 40-50 % signal in day time (multi )
and 40 % (of absat package)

which change into 0 % in a winking moment < so my dish installed said, bear this error dont worry about that,

hope for best in hot weather,

    Atif Khan

    Default Hotbird signal

Yes, the signal is sometimes lost for 10-15 minutes between 1300 Hrs & 1330 Hrs GMT in my receiver & my other 2 friends. At first, I tried to shift to another 2 receivers but with the same observation. My location is Dubai.
Anybody there having the same observation?
    Opportunity knocks only once!
