Ariane launch delayed again
Posted: Sat, Feb 25, 2006, 8:10 AM ET (1310 GMT)
Friday's scheduled launch of two satellites on an Ariane 5 was postponed in order to check on one of the payloads. The launch was scrubbed a few hours before the scheduled liftoff time to allow spacecraft engineers to perform a "verification of the telemetry circuit" for the Hot Bird 7A spacecraft. While the Friday announcement said that the launch would be rescheduled in a few hours, no new launch time had been announced as of Saturday morning. The launch had been scheduled for Tuesday, but was postponed because of problems with ground equipment, and to replace a gyro on one of the rocket's solid-fuel boosters.
